EAST DAVIESS COUNTY WATER ASSOCIATION:  Our association with this client dates back to 1976.  Over the years, JDQ has designed and supervised the construction of hundreds of miles of rural water mains, six water storage tanks and six booster pump stations that now serve customers in eastern Daviess County, southern Hancock County and northern Ohio County.  Our latest project involved the installation of 12 miles of main, a pump station and a storage tank in the Cabot area of Hancock County.  On each of these projects, JDQ was involved from beginning to end, preparing grant applications to Rural Development (formerly the  Farmer’s  Home  Administration),  preparing engineering  reports  and  preliminary  cost estimates, designing the system, preparing plans and specifications, assisting the owner in receiving and awarding bids, coordinating construction, providing construction inspection and assisting in project closeout.  On two of these projects we also worked with the Green River Area Development District on Community Development Block Grant paper work.

OWENSBORO MUNICIPAL UTILITIESAgain, JDQ has worked with OMU for over 30 years on water treatment, distribution and storage projects.  Our most recent project has been the relocation of water mains associated with the reconstruction of U.S. Hwy. 231 from just south of the Owensboro Bypass to the main’s terminus just south of the Owensboro Community College.  Again the project involved the preparation of plans and specifications and construction inspection of the work.  Other recent projects have been the relocation of a 12-inch main required by the reconstruction of Carter Road, the installation of a 12-inch reinforcing main along East Parrish Avenue, a 30-inch raw water main on U.S. Hwy. 60 East to supply water to a 10 million gallon per day treatment plant and a 30-inch and 24-inch finished water main to transport water from the plant back into the distribution system.

CITY UTILITY COMMISSION:  (Corbin, Kentucky):  Various size and type of water mains were relocated as a part of the reconstruction of U.S. 25W.  The work involved routing the new water mains on limited highway right-of-way in order to avoid having to acquire easements.  The water main construction had to be planned and sequenced in order to keep customers in service during construction along the 2.6 mile section of roadway.  Over 11,000 feet of 6”, 8” 12” and 16” water mains were installed in 1997.  JDQ was also responsible for construction inspection from beginning to end.

BEECH GROVE WATER SYSTEM, INC.:  Water mains were extended at various locations in McLean County.  These locations were McGee Chapel Road, High Banks Road, Bazil Young Road and Porter School House Road.  JDQ was responsible for running water pressure analysis on the mains in these locations to verify proper service pressures to the new customers.  We also prepared the necessary applications and the Letters of Certification for each location as required by the Division of Water.  JDQ visited these sites during the construction and testing of the new mains to assure compliance with the state’s regulations.

ROBERT H. STEELE:  Several water distribution mains have been designed for Steele developments over the years.  These include:

 1.   The Bon Harbor Subdivision located on the west side of Owensboro.

  2.  The Starlite Development on West Parrish Avenue.

  3.   KFC Sewer south of J.R. Miller Boulevard near its intersection with South Frederica Street.

YELLOW BANKS DEVELOPMENT, LLC:  The Ridgecrest Medical Park is being developed by a group of local physicians.  The medical office complex is located on U.S. 231 across from Lincoln Mall.  The 8” water main was designed in 1999 and installed in 2000.
