Project Description:

 

The project consisted of studies, cost estimates and recommendations for extending the US 150 by-pass around Springfield, Kentucky to remove the through truck traffic from the downtown area.  Alternate alignment studies will be made, grades studied and Environmental Investigations initiated leading to Environmental Documentation and approval.  A Public Scoping Meeting and a Public Hearing are to be held on the project.  Phase I Design will be performed taking into account public comments that are received. 

 

The Consultant was responsible for:

 

1.         Environmental analysis and report preparation.

2.         All studies, cost estimates and recommendations for preliminary alignment.

3.         Exhibits for public meetings and hearings.

4.         Preliminary geotechnical overview.

5.         Preparing and mailing agency coordination documents.

6.         Providing proposed right-of-way and utility requirements to the Department for estimates.

 

The Department was responsible for:

 

1.         Providing traffic information.

2.         Conducting public meetings.

3.         Photogrammetry and manuscripts.

4.         Preparing right-of-way and utility estimates.
