Project Description:

 

The Consultant performed Phase I design of four (4) alternates.  The Consultant also was responsible for the

Phase I bridge type selection report, which was prepared in consultation with a Subconsultant.

 

The Consultant was responsible for:

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:  Consultant acted as project manager; scheduled meetings; wrote minutes; provided Phase I roadway designs to the Subconsultant for bridge type and configuration studies. Consultant wrote Phase I bridge report.

1.         Phase I included four alignment studies, and cost studies on utilizing existing pavements verus new pavement on new alignment; and cost studies of single or dual bridges.

2.         All necessary field surveys, including check sections, drainage and edge of pavement elevations.

3.         Preparation of grade, drain and surfacing plans.

4.         Preparation of right-of-way plans, including deeds for 38 parcels.

5.         Computation of all quantities and estimation of all costs.

6.         Producing detailed maintenance of traffic plans, with staged construction notes.

7.         Producing all general and special notes and provisions.

8.         Preparation of erosion control plans.

9.         Soil investigation (through Subconsultant), including borings in lake, performed by barge-mounted drilling.

10.       Pavement designs for mainline & minor sideroads.

 

The Department was responsible for:

 

1.         Traffic counts and traffic movements.
