Project Description: The Consultant acted as Project Manager for the entire 40 km segment. The Consultant also was responsible for detailed design of a 14 km segment, which comprised two construction sections.

The Consultant was responsible for:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Consultant acted as project manager; scheduled meetings; wrote minutes; provided overall design criteria to team members to expedite uniformity of plan development. Consultant provided specific pavement design from catalog, and typical sections for all team members.

PHASE I & II DESIGN:

1. All necessary field surveys, including check sections, drainage and edge of pavement elevations.

2. Preparation of grade, drain and surfacing plans.

3. Preparation of right-of-way plans, including deeds for 5 parcels.

4. Design of 5 bridges: I-65 over US 68; KY 101 over I-65; 3 minor cross roads over I-65.

5. Computation of all quantities and estimation of all costs.

6. Producing detailed maintenance of traffic plans, with staged construction notes.

7. Producing all general and special notes and provisions.

8. Preparation of erosion control plans.

9. Soil investigation (through Subconsultant).

The Department was responsible for:

1. Traffic counts and traffic movements.

2. Pavement design catalog.
