Project Description:

The project consisted of development of alternate alignments for the relocation/reconstruction of KY 210 from the Hodgenville Bypass (KY 1618) to Morning Star Road.  One alignment followed the existing highway or slightly east except where it veered away to improve horizontal curves or avoid built-up areas.  The other alternate lay further east along the back line of farms.  Grade studies were then prepared, cross-road alignments and drainage studies made and preliminary right-of-way set.  Environmental base studies were prepared, a public meeting scheduled and Preliminary Line & Grade meeting held.

The Consultant was responsible for:

1.         Additional topographic surveys; railroad elevations, utility location and environmental surveys, including base studies for archaeology, Socio-economics and cultural-historical.

2.         Property owner deed research and contacts.

4.         Structure studies for the crossings of Shelby Lake and CSX Railroad.

5.         Preparation of a comprehensive environmental overview, including ecological, historic, noise, air, socio-economic and hazardous waste impacts.
