Project Description:   This project consisted of a portion of the overall project from 0.5 miles west of Milo to a point on Ky. Hwy. 3 south of Inez near the junction with Saltwell Branch Road.  An additional section was added by change order to extend the project to Ky. Hwy. 40 east of Inez near the intersection with Coldwater Branch.  This section was subsequently canceled after plans were more than 90% complete.

 

The Consultant was responsible for:

 

1.         All studies, cost estimates and recommendations for location and preliminary alignment.

2.         All highway surveys.

3.         All photogrammetric mapping and cross sections, including ground controls.

4.         Establishing properties and property lines.

5.         Hydraulic analysis and preparing drainage situations and drainage folders for the project.

6.         Geotechnical investigations, including staking holes.

7.         Contacting all property owners.

8.         Submitting data to Corps of Engineers for permits.

9.         Furnishing exhibits for and participating in public meetings.

10.       Preparation of Grade and Drain Plans, including 120' rock cuts, 60' fills, graded waste areas and a detention basin.

11.       All structure design including four bridges, five culverts and retaining wall studies.

12.       Right-of-Way Plans and Right-of-Way Plans for Utilities and related services including deed preparation for the project.

13.       Separate Surfacing Plans.

14.       A Maintenance of Traffic Plan.

 

The Department was responsible for:

 

1.         Traffic Projections.

2.         Surface Design.

 

NOTE:  The Consultant was also retained to provide construction supervision on the western portion of this

               project.
