B. WEST, P.E., DESIGN CONSULTANT & QA/QC Project Description: The scope of this project is to provide professional
engineering services for the completion of Phase I Design, including
preparation of design studies, and environmental services necessary to
prepare an environmental document to secure location approval for a section
of Interstate 66 from the Cumberland Parkway west of Somerset to KY 80 east
of Somerset. The Consultant was responsible for: JDQ will serve as Project Manager for the entire 8 mile
Phase I design segment and also is responsible for detailed design of the
alignment segments, which includes four interchanges. PROJECT MANAGEMENT: JDQ will
serve as project manager; schedule meetings; write minutes; provide overall
design criteria to team members to expedite uniformity of plan development,
and be responsible for the Phase I Design as detailed below. PHASE I
DESIGN: 1. All necessary field surveys, including check sections, drainage and
environmental area identification. 2. Public involvement plan, including
newsletters, citizens Advisory Council, public information meetings, slide
presentations press releases. 3. Phase I alignments within designated
corridor, including horizontal and vertical mainline alignments, cross-road
alignments and interchange geometry. The Department was responsible for: 1. Traffic counts and traffic movements. 2. Pavement
design catalog. |
