Project Description:

The project consisted of the design of a four-lane highway from LBL (Land Between the Lakes) to eastward of Canton along a line north of the existing Lake Barkley Bridge and then crossing the existing highway twice to avoid residential/commercial areas.  Special studies were made analyzing the impacts of cross road locations, and access to them, from the Canton-East area to attempt to minimize the impact on existing development while providing for the future.  A bike path was added to the project crossing Lake Barkley on the south side of the bridge and running eastward to the entrance to Lake Barkley State park.
