Project Description:  The project consisted of a scoping study, cost estimates and recommendations for widening and overlay of an existing two-lane highway to provide three 12 foot wide lanes with curb and gutter on each side.  Additional roadway width was positioned so as to minimize damage to adjacent properties and utilize as much of the existing drainage pattern as possible.  Final Design Plans, Final Right-of-Way Plans and Final Right-of-Way Plans for Utilities were initiated after approval of the Scoping Study.  Design speed was 45 M.P.H. with a classification of Rural Arterial.

 

The Consultant was responsible for:

1.         Photogrammetry and Digital Terrain Models.

2.         All studies, cost estimates and recommendations for preliminary alignment.

3.         Completion of the scoping study.

4.         Writing a Design Executive Summary.

5.         All necessary field and office work to provide grade, drain and surfacing plans for construction of the project.

6.         Right-of-Way Plans and Right-of-Way Plans for Utilities and related services including deed preparation for the project.

7.         Preparing drainage situations and

            calculations and compiling drainage

            folders for the project.

8.         Contacting all property owners.

 

The Department was responsible for:

1.         Soils investigation.

2.         Surface design.
