Project Description:

Studies, cost estimate and recommendations for adding two additional lanes adjacent to the existing pavement to provide a four-lane facility for US 68 from Auburn to Rockfield in Logan and Warren Counties.  Spot improvements were made to the existing roadway to upgrade curvature and sight distance to a 50 MPH design. Additional lanes were positioned so that, in the future, new lanes could replace the existing roadway and provide a four-lane divided facility without additional right-of-way acquisition.  Some areas of the project required building a complete four-lane facility initially and some areas were sufficiently developed to require a five-lane curb and gutter section.  Ultimate design speed was 60 MPH.
