ENGINEER Project
Description: This project
consisted of a bypass to the north
for US 68 and KY 80 from Campbell Lane at the western edge of Bowling Green
to the railroad underpass on 6th Street just east of the downtown section of
Bowling Green which ties into US 31W eastbound. The Consultant was responsible for: PHASE I DESIGN: 1. An
EIS or FONSI, including
all environmental studies. 2. A
planning report providing
documentation of the selected corridor. 3. A
Design Study Report defining
design features at the project. 4. Preliminary plans
developed through the preliminary line and grade inspection stage, including cost estimates. 5. Contour manuscripts
for alignment studies. 6. Preliminary hydraulic
analysis of all drainage. 7. Property
lines and owners. 8. Critical
cross sections. 9. Preparation of exhibits for and attendance of public hearings. PHASE II DESIGN: 1. All
necessary field surveys. 2. Preparation
of grade, drain and surfacing plans. (Two lane initial and four lane ultimate.) 3. Preparation
of right-of-way plans and right-of-way plans for utilities,
including deeds for 184 parcels. 4. Design
of 14 road approaches, 95 entrances and 1 railroad crossing. 5. Design
of all structures, including 2 bridges and 6 box culverts. 6. Compute
all drainage situations, including
inlets and sewers in the urban section, and produce drainage folders for each of the three construction sections. 7. Computation
of all quantities and estimation
of all costs. 8. Producing
maintenance of traffic plans. 9. Producing
all general and special notes and provisions. 10. Revising FEMA Floodplain
Maps and associated hydraulic studies for the new
bridges. The Department was responsible for: 1. Mainline
cross-sections. 2. Soils
investigation. 3. Traffic
movements. 4. Half-tone
aerials for strip maps. |
