Project Description:

Alternative structure types were studies, including steel deck truss, concrete segmental box girder, and steel plate girder with optimized substructures for each for the 470 meter long crossing.  The bridge will rise 31 meters above normal pool with water depth at 46 meters.  Also considered in the substructure design was a power storage fluctuation level of 26 meters.  Alternative roadway locations were studied north and south of the existing road and using the existing road.  Also studied was frontage road service to adjacent neighborhoods.  The estimated cost of the bridge is $22.8 million and the roadway project is $4.65 million.
