Description : This bridge was a replacement for an
old steel plate girder bridge just north of the site of the new bridge. The new location of the bridge improved
the roadway alignment and allowed traffic to use the existing bridge during
the construction period. The new
structure has three spans of 56, 97 and 56 feet. The superstructure consists of a concrete deck supported by 48
inch deep prestressed concrete spread box beams. The integral end bents and interior bents are supported on 14
inch concrete piles. The bridge
provides the railroad with a 23 foot vertical clearance and 40 foot
horizontal clearance. Plans were
completed in 1993 and construction of the bridge was completed in summer of
1995. The
Consultant was responsible for: 1. All surveys and field work. 2. Preparation
of Grade, Drain and Surfacing Plans for
approaches. 3. Advance Situation Folder. 4. Preliminary Bridge Plans. 5. Final
Bridge Plans, Specifications and Cost Estimate. The
Department was responsible for: 1. Geotechnical Investigation and recommendations. |
