Project Description :

This bridge was a replacement for an old steel plate girder bridge just north of the site of the new bridge.  The new location of the bridge improved the roadway alignment and allowed traffic to use the existing bridge during the construction period.  The new structure has three spans of 56, 97 and 56 feet.  The superstructure consists of a concrete deck supported by 48 inch deep prestressed concrete spread box beams.  The integral end bents and interior bents are supported on 14 inch concrete piles.  The bridge provides the railroad with a 23 foot vertical clearance and 40 foot horizontal clearance.  Plans were completed in 1993 and construction of the bridge was completed in summer of 1995.
