MANAGER Project Description: Preparation of a Project
Report and right of way plans
for the improvement of IL 47 from north of I-80 to the US 52 intersection. This project involves the widening, resurfacing and addition of
safety slopes along an existing two-lane highway. The south end connects to a commercial
area north of the I-80 interchange which will be widened to provide a center turn lane. Due to heavy truck traffic from Chicago, the major intersections are being designed
for WB-65 vehicles, including channelization. Areas of roadway
flooding are being evaluated. Bridges
and culverts are being inspected and checked for adequacy,
extension or replacement. Phase II Design will follow the approval
of the Project Report. The
Consultant was responsible for: 1. Field
surveys, including ROW surveys,
courthouse research, section corner setting. ROW staking by subconsultant. 2. All necessary office work to provide preliminary plans, cross sections and
drainage studies for the report,
including accident data analysis
and cost estimates. 3. Geotechnical
investigations for structures by sub-contract. 4. Maintenance
of traffic report. 5. Intersection
design studies for WB-65 vehicles; 3-lane section. 6. Bridge
and culvert inspections/reports
and rehabilitation recommendations. 7. Preparation of exhibits, mosaics and documents
for a public meeting. 8. Right-of-way
plans, including preparation of deeds
and plats for each parcel. 9. Other studies include: superelevation analysis, horizontal
and vertical alignment adequacy,
guardrail study and a utility
relocation report. 10. Environmental
impact overview and agricultural
affects report. The
Department was responsible for: 1. Bridge Hydraulic Studies. 2. Aerial photographs. 3. Soil
surveys, traffic data, accident data, as-built plans. |
