Description: Preparation of construction
and right-of-way plans for the
relocation of Illinois Route 3 from south of Waterloo, Illinois northwards to
the existing four-lane roadway at Gilmore Lake Road. This included a two-lane rural relocation, 3.6 miles long, located west of
Waterloo along an abandoned railroad for part of its length and intersection
with ILL. 156 at grade. This
intersection was a curb and gutter section. At the north commercial edge of Waterloo
an intersection with old ILL. 3 was constructed along with 1.2 miles of
five-lane urban roadway including commercial
and residential street access, storm sewers and maintenance of traffic as the new roadway lay over and along the
existing road, however at different
grade and alignment. North of this commercial area a 3.7 mile divided four-lane section,
weaving back and forth across the existing roadway, was planned. Five stages of construction and several small detour ramps and crossovers
were used to maintain traffic. The
Consultant was responsible for: 1. Field
surveys, including DBE ROW surveys. 2. All necessary office work to provide grade, drain, surfacing plans and special provisions for construction
of the project. 3. Geotechnical
investigations by sub-contract. 4. Maintenance
of traffic plans, including staged
construction details and detours. 5. Signing
and striping plans. 6. Preparation of drainage situations and calculations
and compiling drainage folders for
the project. 7. Structural design of improved inlets. 8. Right-of-way
plans, including preparation of deeds
and plats for each parcel and a Statutory Plat of Highways to be filed. The
Department was responsible for: 1. Photogrammetric services, including
manuscripts. 2. Tree replacement plans. 3. Pavement design. 4. Title commitments. 5. An
approved Design Report showing geometrics and design guidelines. |
