Project Description:

 

 

This project involved the widening and deck replacement for a 3-span bridge in a curved alignment.  Substructure units were widened on both sides and raised to accommodate new rate of superelevation.  New steel girders were added and existing girders checked for fatigue.  New approach slabs and abutment backwalls were required.  All bearings were replaced with new bearings.  Design was completed in 1992 and construction is scheduled for fall of 1992.  Estimated construction cost $750,000.

 

The Consultant was responsible for:

 

1.         Providing surveys.

2.         All design and construction plans for the roadway approaches and the structure.

3.         Specifications and cost estimates.

 

The Illinois Department of Transportation was responsible for:

 

1.         All geotechnical work.

2.         Approved T.S. & L. Plans.
